When I was thinking about 2012 during my time off last December I knew I wanted to give back to all the wonderful clients who I am so blessed to work with everyday. I have done the “all because of love” contest twice before, but it seemed that folks were always left out. So, I thought what about asking each client what their absolute favorite image was when they got their session gallery back and in a few words tell me why it was. It’s quite interesting because I have my favorites. I blog my favorites. Do I blog every single session? Absolutely. The only time I had to take a break was during the crazy Fall of ’11 when there was no possible way for me to keep up. I even had a friend suggest I blog my favorite sessions. I couldn’t do it. I wasn’t going to pick and choose who I blogged for fear of hurting someones feelings. So, I just took a break completely. I think it was a smart move. I read all the time photographers only blogging “pretty clients”, their BEST work, etc. Well, I happen to think all of my clients are rockstars and I happen to believe that every session I get better. I should, right? I should grow everyday. Do I have off days? Of course!! But, I am learning and I love it. I still have so far to go and I think this new addition to SRP will help me see where my strengths are and where I need to work just a little bit harder.
So, for the first time ever I want to introduce to you all JANUARY CLIENTS FAVORITE 2012. Each image loved BIG by the client and pinned “favorite” of their session. When telling me why they chose this image I got simple and to the point answers like “it shows our love for one another”….”because he looked so cute” …to what came to the mothers heart when she saw the image of her son and husband…“ The whispers of a Father….Son, there is a great big crazy world out that window. Full of amazing possibilities. Dream big Son. All those possibilities will not be easy. Many will be hard, and even painful, but know Son, you have a great helper. His name is Jesus. Stay close to Him my little man. He will not lead you astray. He wants what I want my Son, your deepest happiness.” See what I mean? I have the most amazing big hearted clients in the world.
So, what is the point of this contest you may be asking yourself? Well, there are a lot of clients {who will remain nameless} who don’t print their images often!! Can you believe that? Silly people. Anyway, I want to get these beautiful images printed BIG for clients walls. So, every month I will do a blog for Clients Favorite. Every single session I have will be included…..Every single one! For 3 days I would love for friends, family, other photographers, other clients to VOTE for THEIR favorite of the bunch. After 3 days a winner will be announced and that client will receive an 11×14 print from ME. At the end of 2012 I will do a top 12 contest. We will vote AGAIN and that winner will receive a 24×36 canvas from ME. Pretty simple, eh?
